This diverse and dynamic group of sixteen young activists will begin their sisterhood journey on Saturday, March 15th with a three day Retreat in the Santa Cruz hills. On April 2nd these young leaders will participate in Sacramento advocacy efforts during HOPE’s Latina Action Day conference. The ELLA class will participate in programming through HOPE’s Leadership Institute (HLI Class of 2013) and the Youth Leadership Through Literacy Program (YLTLP Class of 2013) to further educate their fellow legislators on issues and bills benefitting the Latino/a community.

We look forward to connecting our ELLA class with our outstanding network of Latina leaders. We hope you will join us at future LCSV events!

ELLA Video Projects

Upon graduating, each of the ELLAs had to work on a video project that discussed these issues impacting Latinas.

Please see the links below to view the topics from the class of 2013:

SCARCITY OF LATINAS IN LEADERSHIP

ACCESS TO MENTAL HEALTHCARE

SCARCITY OF LATINAS IN STEM

OVER-REPRESENTATION OF INCARCERATED LATINAS

We hope these videos are not just informational but will inspire us as LCSV members to work together to address these issues!
