Christina Ramos was born and raised in East San Jose. She is a graduate of The National Hispanic University in Liberal Studies where she received the President’s Award and went on to study Public Administration at SJSU. She currently serves as Chief of Staff in the City of San José’s District 3 and prior spent 10 years at San José State University as Director of the MESA Schools Program. She has commitment to community by serving as Co-Chair of the County Committee for the Santa Clara County Office of Education and Secretary of Democratic Activists for Women Now (DAWN). She has also served as President of the Latina Coalition of Silicon Valley, Commissioner of the Santa Clara County’s Commission on the Status of Women, Governing Board Member of the San Jose Cal-SOAP Consortium, Committee member of the Alum Rock School District’s Measure G and J Bond Oversight Committee, and Commissioner for the City of San Jose’s Library and Early Education Commission.
She has been recognized as 100 Influential Women of Silicon Valley from the San Jose Business Journal and named one of the 40 Under 40 Latin@s to Watch and Gente Choice Award in Education in the Silicon Valley by Silicon Valley Latino Magazine.
