Latina Coalition of Silicon Valley is seeking an organized, creative and communicative Communications & Membership Coordinator , to ensure the organization has a strong external presence aligned with our mission and brand.

  • The Communications and Membership Coordinator will serve as the creative and tactical lead to grow and deeply engage a broad audience, including existing and potential members, partners, sponsors, and donors. The coordinator will manage LCSV’s social media channels, craft compelling content, and execute marketing campaigns across multiple platforms under the guidance of LCSV’s Development and Impact Manager. The member relations component of the role will entail collaborating with relevant committees to create and implement strategies, systems, and structures that welcome and guide new, existing, and alumni members, so that they can engage deeply with LCSV. This role provides an incredible opportunity for skill-building and career development across fields. There is potential for the position to extend or change into a permanent role; it will begin part-time.

    We are seeking a highly capable, self-directed coordinator who will help drive awareness and community engagement with our ongoing community, program and policy efforts. A summary of the duties includes, but is not limited to the following:

  • ● Coordinates monthly e-newsletter, and e-blasts -- including generating content, designing layout.

    ● Develop and write content for website, social media, member communications, and email.

    ● Develop creative content marketing and social media calendars.

    ● Create an immersive and thoughtful experience that improves the member experience in a new, fresh way.

    ● Create engaging social media campaigns.

    ● Ensure website content is brand compliant and consistent in quality and tone of voice.

    ● Ensure all content and images are accurate, product correct, grammatically correct, consistent with overall marketing strategy, proper approval and releases have been obtained, and compliant with Company policies and appropriate laws and regulations.

  • ● Serve as the point person for coordinating and delegating diverse tasks related to social media and membership.

    ● Work with relevant communications staff and committees to execute on appropriate LCSV branding for recruitment and onboarding materials.

    ● Work closely with LCSV’s staff and volunteers to craft and implement member recruitment strategies (campaigns, events, targeted outreach, etc.) to help us reach and serve a diverse and broad audience across geographies, fields and career statuses.

    ● Track and coordinate communications with new, existing, and members alumni through our member database and create processes that make it easier to support and engage members in LCSV programming and professional development.

  • ● Plan and execute a Silent Auction for our 2022 Annual Sisterhood Brunch and support overall communications and marketing efforts.

    ● Partner with Development and Impact Manager to optimize referral program initiatives, media relations, link building, community and partnership engagement, and internal communications, working cross-functionally with key partners as needed.

    ● Assist executive team with miscellaneous tasks as assigned.

    ● Effectively manage multiple priorities and meet stated deadlines while delivering quality results.

  • ● Minimum 1 year of relevant marketing and/or communications experience required.

    ● Flexibility and comfort with experimentation, iteration, and change as part of a young, dynamic, and growing organization.

    ● Demonstrated interest/experience in working with first generation, leadership development and women’s empowerment organizations.

    ● Excellent interpersonal, organizational, bilingual Spanish/English verbal and written communication skills, English-speaking and writing proficiency preferred.

    ● Passion for graphic design, and ideally some experience, aptitude or training in visual design principles and branding.

    ● Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; adept at managing many moving pieces.

    ● Ability to work independently and highly motivated to tackle projects with minimal direction.

    ● Ability to take initiative and proactively manage multiple sometimes competing tasks and projects while satisfactorily meeting deadlines and desired outcomes.

    ● Committed to detail in a fast-paced environment.

    ● Ability to effectively prioritize time and tasks and navigate challenges and obstacles as they arise.

    ● Solution-focused: able to analyze administrative, marketing, and logistical problems and recommend effective solutions.

    ● Extremely flexible, with a strong work ethic and an entrepreneurial spirit to accommodate a high level of responsibility and multiple priorities.

    ● Experience with Excel, Microsoft Suite, GoogleApps, Slack, and Zoom platform.

  • ● Compensation – Non-Exempt, semi-monthly payment, starting at $25/hr, based on experience.

    ● Hours – Part-time up to 29 hours. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends.

    ● Location - This position will spend a lot of time working in the office. For office work staff can choose to work remotely, in-office, or a hybrid based on the needs of the role and plan determined with the supervisor. All necessary equipment will be provided by Latina Coalition. This role requires regular and frequent travel to meetings, events, and program partner sites.
