Building Solidarity: Addressing Anti-Blackness within the Latina Community
In this interactive workshop, facilitated by Karla Monterroso, we will explore the intersections of anti-Blackness and Latina identity, addressing the harmful impacts it has within our communities. Through open dialogue, personal reflection, and collective learning, participants will examine the historical and social roots of anti-Blackness and the steps we can take to foster true solidarity. By acknowledging and dismantling these internalized biases, we aim to empower our communities to contribute to broader movements for racial justice.

Latina Equal Pay Day
Did you know that Latinas in California earn only 42 cents for every dollar earned by a White man?
In Silicon Valley, the gap is even wider, with Latinas making just 33.6 cents on the dollar. This disparity isn't just a statistic—it affects generations of families and communities, keeping them from the economic opportunities they deserve.
On October 3rd, join the Latina Coalition of Silicon Valley in partnership with the City of San Jose’s Cultural Affairs Office and Santa Clara County officials for a day of action as we demand change. Together, we can advocate for economic justice and help close the wage gap for Latinas.
